ORION MapStar is a comprehensive and scalable mapping solution designed to work in tandem with VESTA, or as an adjunct to third-party Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). Built on a powerful Microsoft Windows and Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) platform, ORION MapStar offers a configurable interface and convenient toolbar for instant access and processing of incident information.

In addition to fast and easy location of wireless and wireline calls, ORION MapStar provides routing, site information, mapped Automatic Location Identification (ALI) broadcasting, event/unit filtering, structure-based ALI matching and more. Call takers can quickly identify events, landmarks, Emergency Service Numbers (ESN) and other incident-related information. They can also view building footprints, receive HAZMAT information and deploy a variety of user-configured layers, i.e., imagery.

Differentiated Phase I and Phase II calls can be displayed with call location “buffer rings” to help determine call location at a glance. A powerful search engine finds addresses using aliases, structure names, intersections and phonetic street spelling. ORION MapStar also supports bi-directional communications with CAD, allowing telecommunicators to add, edit or delete unit or event information.
